The website is operated by Ibiza Yacht Rental, a sole proprietorship of Mark Parrett (NIE X4344481B), with registered address at Calle Juan Alonso Rudian 4 1-4, 07800, Ibiza, Spain ("we", "us", "our").

We operate the website www.ibiza-yacht-rental.com, through which we offer information about and enquiry services for private yacht and boat charter in Ibiza and Formentera.

What data we collect and why

Enquiry and contact data

When you submit an enquiry through the Site — whether through our enquiry form, events form, or any other contact form — we collect:

First name and last name
Email address
Phone number
Preferred dates (if provided)
Message content

Purpose: To respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to follow up with charter options or additional information.

Legal basis: Legitimate interests — responding to a direct enquiry you have submitted to us.

Booking petition data

When you submit a booking petition (a formal charter request), we additionally collect:

Postal address and country
Number of guests (adults, children, infants)
Preferred departure time
Passport or national ID number

Purpose: To process your booking request and prepare the necessary charter documentation.

Legal basis: Performance of a contract — the information is necessary to proceed with a charter arrangement.

Analytics data

With your consent, we collect usage data about how visitors interact with the Site using Google Analytics 4 (GA4). This includes pages viewed, session duration, device type, and general location (country/city level). Analytics relies on pseudonymous identifiers; we do not configure GA4 to capture directly identifying fields.

Purpose: To understand how the Site is used so we can improve it.

Legal basis: Your consent, given via the cookie banner when you first visit the Site.

How we use your data

We use the information you provide to:

Respond to charter enquiries and booking requests
Send you confirmation emails and administrative communications relating to your enquiry or booking
Prepare charter documentation where a booking proceeds
Improve the Site (analytics, with your consent only)

We do not use your data for unsolicited marketing communications. We do not sell or rent your data to any third party.

Who we share your data with

We work with a small number of trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:

Supabase (database and data storage) — Your submitted data is stored securely in our Supabase database. Supabase acts as a data processor under a Data Processing Agreement.

Resend (transactional email) — When you submit an enquiry or booking, confirmation emails are sent via Resend. Resend processes the email content (your name, email address, and the confirmation message) for this purpose only.

Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager (analytics, consent required) — If you have accepted analytics cookies, your pseudonymised usage data is processed by Google. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Vercel (website hosting) — The Site is hosted on Vercel's infrastructure. Vercel processes server request data, including IP addresses, request logs, and form submission payloads in transit, in the normal operation of hosting.

We do not share your data with any other third parties, and we do not use your data for advertising purposes.

International transfers

Some of our service providers are based outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards: the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified (e.g. Google LLC), and Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission for other transfers (e.g. Resend, Vercel, and Supabase where applicable).

Data retention

Enquiry data is retained for up to 24 months from the date of enquiry, after which it is deleted unless a booking has been made. If an enquiry results in a booking, the data is retained under the booking retention rule below.

Booking data is retained for 7 years in accordance with Spanish tax and accounting obligations.

Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics for 14 months (our configured retention period).

How we protect your data

We apply industry-standard security measures, including HTTPS encryption for all traffic, encrypted database connections, row-level security policies on our database, access controls limiting who can view personal data, and password hashing for any admin accounts. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.

Children’s data

The Site is intended for use by adults. Charter bookings are made by adults; where children or infants are included as guests, the booking is made by an adult on their behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children under 16.

Automated decision-making

We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Your rights under GDPR

As a data subject under EU/UK GDPR, you have the following rights:

Right of access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data
Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete your data, subject to any legal retention obligations
Right to restriction — you can ask us to limit how we process your data in certain circumstances
Right to data portability — you can request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
Right to object — you can object to processing based on legitimate interests
Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent (e.g. analytics cookies), you can withdraw consent at any time via the cookie settings on this Site

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish data protection authority (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos — aepd.es). If you live in another EU country, you may instead contact your local supervisory authority.
